Making potions!

Year two had fun making potions! They had to follow the instructions and carefully measure the different liquids in ml. Next they had to calculate how much liquid they would have if they doubled or halved the amount. 

World Book day

Everyone looked fabulous in their costumes! In year two the children wrote some wonderful recipes for their marvellous medicine for Grandma! Next they followed their instructions to make the medicine. The ingredients included hair gel, mushy peas, spaghetti hoops amongst other things. It smelt revolting but was very much enjoyed by all.

Pancake fun!

After learning about the meaning behind Shrove Tuesday we all had fun making, cooking and eating pancakes! We finished off the morning with a pancake race which was so much fun!

Having fun making arrays from cheerios!

Year 2 had fun in maths making arrays using cheerios. We did this to help us with our understanding of multiplication. 

Brrr it's chilly!

This week in art we looked at Kandinski's painting called 'Concentric Circles' then we did our own version using cold colours. 

They look fantastic all together!

We are continuing the cold theme in Geography looking at maps, atlases and a globe to explore the world and find out where the coldest places are.

In Science we had fun with ice and used different materials to find out which would be the best to make a tent and keep out the cold.

Duncan Slater visit

We all very much enjoyed listening to our visitor Duncan Slater. This was a great start to our topic on 'Cold places' as he told us all lots about his trip to Antarctica. His inspirational story was enjoyed by all and the children thought of some fantastic questions to ask him.
