Storming the castle!

This morning we read and followed instructions on how to storm a castle. We found out how the enemy attacked at night, how they loaded the catapults with fire balls and then used the battering ram to hammer on the gate until it gives way. The next instruction was to lay long ladders against the walls and send the soldiers up. Finally, when inside, fight the enemy with their weapons. The children really enjoyed this and I look forward to reading their written instructions tomorrow!

Making potions!

Year two had fun making potions! They had to follow the instructions and carefully measure the different liquids in ml. Next they had to calculate how much liquid they would have if they doubled or halved the amount.

Everyone looked fabulous in their costumes! In year two the children wrote some wonderful recipes for their marvellous medicine for Grandma! Next they followed their instructions to make the medicine. The ingredients included hair gel, mushy peas, spaghetti hoops amongst other things. It smelt revolting but was very much enjoyed by all.
