Back to school!
We made name tags for our cloakroom pegs
Then we had lots of fun playing outside.
Outside we managed to sort ourself out into height order and discussed if our theory was correct.
We decided that our feet were all of a similar size, maybe next time we will measure some class 4 feet to see just how much bigger our feet will get.
In maths we investigated if taller children have the biggest feet.
We drew round each other's feet.
Then we practiced using a ruler to measure our foot.

Pirate Day!
This term we have been finding out about 'Pirates and Islands'. Today we are rounding off our topic with a pirate day.
Here are some pirate islands we made earlier...
Today the children made pirate cakes and then wrote instructions about how to make them!
This afternoon we made sandwiches, taking it in turns to give instructions, then groups shared pirate books together.
After that we played some party games that we chose by collecting data!
First was 'Captain of the Treasure'.

Features of instruction texts
Today we have started to think about the features of instruction texts. Firstly we acted out the features, saying what they were as we went. Then we labelled the features on a set of instructions.
